When IWA started it activities four years ago, corruption was only an anecdotic phenomenon and was not at all a priority for the donors or the Afghan government. Through its consistent research, IWA has achieved to become the main source of nationally gathered and analyzed data on corruption trends in Afghanistan. Also, research results of IWA’s work as well as its advocacy have clearly contributed to raise awareness about the forms and volume of corruption in the country and to inform policy makers’ approaches to address the issue of corruption.
